How to Order a Two-Tone Court? (e.g., Red Key on a Grey Court)

Less than Half Court (192 Tile Key Area)

  • The Logic: This creates a 12x16 tile grid.

  • The Size: It measures roughly 4.1m wide x 5.4m long.

  • Why it's safe: It is wide enough to look like a real key on a large court, but narrow enough that it won't dominate a smaller backyard court. It is the perfect "middle ground."

Full or Half Courts (238 Tile Key Area)

Pro / FIBA Regulation Key (238 Tiles)

  • Best for: Half Courts or Full Courts.

  • Why: Matches professional dimensions (4.9x5.8m) for an authentic game experience.

Instructions

Simply follow these 3 steps:

  1. Find your Total: Use the calculator above to find the total tiles needed for your whole floor.

  2. Order the Key: Add 192 tiles (maller than a Half Court) or 238 Tiles (Half Court or larger) in your specific "Key" colour (e.g., Red) to your cart.

  3. Order the Rest: Subtract 192 or 238 from your total and add the remaining balance in your "Main Court" colour.

What makes HoopFlex Pro™ Tiles Better?

A: While many modular tiles look similar, the difference lies in the engineering. Our tiles are built for athlete safety, noise reduction, and long-term durability using patented technology. Here are the top 5 differences:

1. Patented "Spring Lock" Technology (No Buckling) Standard plastic tiles often buckle or arch when they get hot in the sun. Our tiles feature a patented Spring Lock expansion system. It automatically contracts in high heat and expands in the cold. This eliminates the "thermal expansion", keeping your court perfectly flat in the harsh Australian climate.

2. Acoustic Noise Reduction (Neighbor Friendly) Standard plastic tiles can be loud and "clacky." Our tiles utilize a specialized criss-crossing gap design that acts as a sound release valve. Instead of trapping noise, the holes allow sound waves from the ball bounce to pass through and dissipate. This sound-absorbing effect creates a significantly quieter court—perfect for backyard setups where keeping neighbours happy is a priority.

3. Pro-Level Shock Absorption (Knee & Ankle Protection) We don’t just use hard plastic. Each tile features an integrated elastic shock pad secured by a unique buckle structure (so it never falls off). This absorbs huge impact energy to reduce strain on knees and ankles, yet maintains a 98% ball rebound rate—identical to a hardwood court.

4. "Animal Skin" Frosted Surface Texture Safety is our priority. We use a unique chemical etching process to create a frosted "animal skin" texture. This serves two key purposes:

  • Superior Grip: Increases friction for safe pivots and stops.

  • Anti-Glare: Prevents dazzling reflections from strong sunlight, protecting your vision—especially important for kids practicing in the afternoon sun.

5. Heavy-Duty Structural Integrity (15 Tonne Load) Weight equals quality. Our tiles are engineered with a multi-layer rib structure, making them weigh 600g per tile (significantly heavier than standard competitors). This density allows them to withstand high-intensity sports and bear a rolling load of up to 15 tonnes. They are built to last, not just to look good.

Can I install this court myself, or do I need a professional?

You can absolutely install it yourself! Our system is designed for easy DIY installation. The tiles simply snap together using a "male-to-female" interlocking system—think of it like huge Lego blocks. A standard half-court can typically be assembled by two people in just 3–4 hours. No glue, no toxic adhesives, and no special tools are required (other than a tape measure and a rubber mallet).

What surface do I need to lay the tiles on?

For the best ball bounce and performance, we strongly recommend a hard, flat surface such as concrete or asphalt.

  • Concrete/Asphalt: Ideal. Provides 98% ball bounce (identical to hardwood).

  • Crushed Rock/Compacted Base: Possible for casual shooting, but you may lose some ball bounce energy and level might become uneven over time.

  • Grass/Dirt: Not recommended. The soft ground will absorb the energy, causing the ball to bounce poorly ("dead ball" effect), and the tiles may shift over time.

How do I clean and maintain the court?

Maintenance is incredibly low. Because the tiles are suspended with flow-through drainage, dirt and water pass right through.

  • For Debris: Use a leaf blower or a broom to clear leaves.

  • For Cleaning: A simple hose down or a light pressure wash is all you need to restore the court to looking brand new. The non-porous Polypropylene material resists stains, oil, and mould.

What happens if a tile gets damaged?

That is the beauty of a modular system. Unlike a poured concrete or acrylic court where a crack means expensive resurfacing, our system allows you to replace a single tile. You can simply unclip the damaged tile using a flat-head screwdriver or putty knife and snap a new one in its place in seconds. We recommend ordering a few spare tiles with your court just in case!

IMPORTANT: Many consumers are unaware that there are similar garage tiles/copies being sold at premium prices are actually inexpensive, low-quality tiles. These tiles are often marketed to look like high-end options but may lack the durability, resistance, and quality control of genuine brands. Since they mimic the appearance of reputable products, buyers can easily mistake them for top-tier options, especially when faced with claims about “premium materials”.

Without clear knowledge of the differences, consumers can end up investing in lower quality – overpriced tiles.

Avoid Misleading Marketing Practices

  • Similar Aesthetics: Cheap tiles can closely resemble high-quality options in appearance, leading buyers to assume they are making a wise investment. They may be sold with enticing labels like “high quality” or “commercial quality,” which sound impressive but do not guarantee long-term durability or performance.
  • Limited Consumer Knowledge: Many buyers are not well-versed in the specifics of tile materials, specifications, or performance characteristics. This knowledge gap allows sellers to exploit consumer trust, making it difficult for buyers to discern quality differences without thorough research.
  • Overemphasis on Pricing: Some consumers mistakenly equate price with quality, believing that a higher price tag always indicates superior performance. This perception can lead to overpaying for lower-quality tiles.

Being informed about product specifications, understanding warranty details, and purchasing from Flexspec Authorised Dealers and/or other reputable brands ,like Swisstrax or RaceDeck, can help buyers avoid overpaying for tiles that might not perform as advertised.

If you have any concerns, we strongly suggest purchasing a Flexspec Sample Pack and obtaining samples from other various suppliers to compare the quality for yourself.

Unlike standard hard tiles that stress your joints, the HoopFlex Pro™ features an integrated Shock-Absorbing Elastic Pad System on the underside. This “floating floor” technology absorbs impact energy, significantly reducing strain on knees and ankles while delivering a 98% True Ball Rebound rating. Whether it’s for basketball or tennis you get the authentic response of a stadium court with the safety features required for athletes of all ages.

Maximum Grip: Features a specialised “frosted” friction surface for superior anti-slip traction during high-speed cuts and pivots.
