The REC range is made from recycled polypropylene when compared to our PRO range which is made from 100% virgin polypropylene.
Flexspec has developed the REC range to provide a more budget-friendly option for those looking for a more cost effective solution. Products made from recycled polypropylene generally have a lower or mixed density count. Unlike other recycled tiles we’ve been developed a formula through the recycling process which maintains the structural integrity of our budget-friendly tiles, still holding the same weight (630g) as the PRO version. The REC range still has many of the benefits of our PRO range, at a cheaper more affordable cost.
The process of recycling polypropylene involves collecting, sorting, and cleaning used polypropylene products. It is then shredded, melted, and reformed into pellets or flakes that can be used in the production of our REC range of tiles.
Recycled polypropylene has many benefits, including a reduced environmental impact, lower energy consumption, and a lower carbon footprint than virgin polypropylene. It also offers cost savings and improved sustainability.
