FAQs

1. Are Flexspec tiles UV-resistant? (Outdoor Use)

Yes. Our tiles are fully UV-stabilised and engineered to resist fading, even under harsh Australian sunlight. This makes them an excellent choice for outdoor patios, balconies, and campsites.

2. Can these tiles handle high-traffic areas?

Absolutely. Thanks to their robust polypropylene (PP) construction, Flexspec tiles are incredibly durable. They are designed to withstand the demands of heavy foot traffic in trade fairs, gyms, production facilities, and busy workshops.

3. What temperatures can the flooring withstand?

Flexspec tiles are temperature-resistant from -30°C to +70°C. Whether it’s a freezing winter morning or a scorching summer afternoon in the garage, the tiles maintain their shape and stability without warping.

4. How long does installation take?

Installation is fast and purely DIY. You don't need special tools or prior experience. Depending on the size of your space, most standard garages can be completed in just 1 to 4 hours.

5. How do I clean and maintain the floor?

The tiles are very low maintenance. For general cleaning, simply vacuum or mop with mild cleaning agents. Because they are water-resistant, you can also use a pressure washer to blast away dirt—perfect for washing your car inside the garage.

6. Is there a warranty?

Yes. All Flexspec tiles come with a comprehensive Warranty covering any defects in materials or workmanship, giving you total peace of mind.

7. Can I customise the design?

Yes! With a wide range of colours and finish styles (like Diamond Plate or Vented), you can mix and match to create custom patterns, checkerboards, or borders to match your car or brand colours.

8. Are the tiles environmentally friendly?

Yes. Flexspec tiles are 100% recyclable. They contain no harmful chemicals or toxins, making them safe for use in enclosed indoor spaces like basements, hobby rooms, and laundries.

9. Can I use them for temporary events?

They are the perfect solution for temporary setups. The interlocking system allows you to install and remove the floor rapidly without damaging the concrete underneath. This is ideal for trade show booths, pop-up events, or rental properties.

10. Can I use these inside the house?

Yes. While designed for garages, they offer a modern, industrial look for "man caves," basements, playrooms, and laundry areas. They are warm underfoot and easy to keep clean.

Garage Floor Tile DIY Installation Guide

This guide is suitable for installation of the following tiles:
GridFlex Pro™, SmoothFlex Pro™, 3DFlex Pro™, DiamondFlex Pro™, VinylFlex Pro™ Flat, VinylFlex Pro™ Diamond, VinylFlex Pro™ Coin.

Step 1

Clean Your Garage
Thoroughly sweep the garage floor to clear away dust and small debris.

Step 2

Lay Your First Tile
Position the first tile at the front left corner or front right corner of the garage entrance, with the pegged "male" sides facing the wall and the garage door.

Step 3

Start Laying Rows
Place the next tile in the same orientation as the first, aligning the pegged side of the new tile with the looped side of the previous one. Press them together by hand or with a rubber mallet. Continue adding tiles in this manner until the first row is complete.

Step 4

Attach Ramp Edges
Once you've completed the first row, attach the ramp pieces to the tiles closest to the garage door by lifting the tiles and snapping the ramps into place. Close the garage door and adjust the rows.

Step 5

Ensure Your Tiles Are Evenly Aligned
If your design features a pattern that needs to be centred, or if you want to avoid cutting tiles at the edges, adjust the rows so that there is an equal gap between the outermost tiles and the walls on both sides.

Step 6

Proceed with Laying Tiles
Continue laying tiles in the same direction until you reach the back and opposite walls. Pause at the final rows, as you may need to cut them for a precise fit.

Step 7

Cut and Fit Remaining Tiles
For a precise fit, use a jigsaw with a fine-toothed blade to cut the remaining tiles to size. Be sure to maintain a 5mm expansion gap between the wall and the tile. Measure and mark the tiles before cutting, then securely snap them into place.

Step 8

Relax and Enjoy Your New Floor!
After laying all the tiles, give your floor a quick clean to remove any installation dust. Your floor is now ready to use!

How To Spot The Differences

GridFlex Pro™ Tiles vs. Competitors: Comparison images below.

GridFlex Pro™ tiles have thicker clips

vs Competitors (thin clips – prone to break over time)

GridFlex Pro™ tiles use a newer mould with no injection points

vs Competitors (cheaper mould – four of these markings on the top of their tile)

GridFlex Pro™ colours appear richer and fuller

vs Competitors (less boldness to their colours – tend to look overly shiny in pictures)

GridFlex Pro™ tiles weigh more and consistently weigh the same

vs Competitors (inconsistent or low weight – an indicator of random filler materials)

GridFlex Pro™ tiles have more supporting pins

vs Competitors (less pins – can cause stability issues)

If you’ve purchased garage tiles in the past, we recommend checking them with the images and features listed above. Sellers who cut corners on these features are likely to compromise on other components as well.

Avoid Misleading Marketing Practices

Similar Aesthetics: Cheap tiles can closely resemble high-quality options in appearance, leading buyers to assume they are making a wise investment. They may be sold with enticing labels like “high quality” or “commercial quality,” which sound impressive but do not guarantee long-term durability or performance.
Limited Consumer Knowledge: Many buyers are not well-versed in the specifics of tile materials, specifications, or performance characteristics. This knowledge gap allows sellers to exploit consumer trust, making it difficult for buyers to discern quality differences without thorough research.
Overemphasis on Pricing: Some consumers mistakenly equate price with quality, believing that a higher price tag always indicates superior performance. This perception can lead to overpaying for lower-quality tiles.

Being informed about product specifications, understanding warranty details, and purchasing from Flexspec Authorised Dealers and/or other reputable brands ,like Swisstrax or RaceDeck, can help buyers avoid overpaying for tiles that might not perform as advertised.

If you have any concerns, we strongly suggest purchasing a Flexspec Sample Pack and obtaining samples from other various suppliers to compare the quality for yourself.

Remember, if you have any specific questions about Flexspec flooring or its applications, feel free to ask! You can message us on livechat, email us, or call us on 1300 328 003
